Winters are ruling and there couldn’t be any better weather than this to visit Goa. Goa is mostly there on everyone’s bucket list, some have already visited there and some are still waiting for that BIG Day, but hey! What if we tell you that mini goa has arrived in heart of Delhi? No kidding, you just read it right. Mini goa themed restaurant with the name LADY BAGA, located in P BLOCK, CP has come to amaze you with its interiors, food, music, drinks and actually everything. Everything’s there, from beach chairs to dishes to sand and even to dream catchers have goan vibes. You can even spot the staff wearing clothes that remind you of goa.
The restaurant is a new venture and has come up with an amazing and new theme i.e. beach theme. The restaurant has 2 floors sitting and a balcony view too which just makes you awe. You can have a really good time here as the place provides you with so much of positive and fun vibes. Well, what better than sipping beer in a goa theme restaurant with live music playing in front of you, amazing right?
Ah! I still can’t get over this place.
Starting with the food now,
They basically serve goan and seafood which is perfect to make you remind that you’re actually in Goa. They had a decent menu but with really different names.
STARTERS, I had,
WHOLE LOTTA ROS
This dish is basically chicken fry omelet with pav. It was a beautiful dish having shades of orange and yellow, enough to make you drool over it. It was a palatable dish with excellent taste and flavors’ and when had with pav, gave an incredible delicious treat to taste buds.
LIGHT MY FIRE
You’ll get fry chicken tossed with onion and spice, it was another delish dish. Chicken was well prepared and was juicy; the flavors’ can be felt, a recommended dish.
You’ll get served crispy shrimps with veggies in this. The shrimps were juicy but wasn’t crispy; it gave a bland taste. I felt something was missing from this dish.
When you are at Beach themed café and no drinks? How is that possible, well in drinks we had,
A sweet and sour mix of tangy tomatoes and alcohol, It was a nice drink.
THE GINGER MAN
This was actually my kind of drink having sweet and a bit sour flavors’ with minimal amount of alcohol, recommended.
Till we were sipping our drinks we get another interesting dish named,
ALL YOU NEED IS CHILLY FRY
It was a total different dish than to its name. We got calamari in chilly fry, crumb fried recheando masala. The taste was good but I don’t like calamari much, so it didn’t go well with me.
A soon as we ended our last two drinks, we were served sangria and trust me, they had best sangria. You need to have it if you visit here.
COMING TO THE MAIN COURSE, we had,
It was a typically goan styled tempered plain yellow dal with garlic and red chili served with plain rice. Dal was appetizing, giving the feel of homemade one. I like it though.
XAVIER’S XACUTI ACADEMY
Chicken xacuti had a class of its own, it was chicken curry blended with goan spices. I personally loved this one, it was a perfect flavorful, savory dish to complete main course.
GOAN ON POT
It was a pot rice of homemade goan chorizo sausages tossed with rice and potatoes. The rice was well prepared and tasted delicious.
With this the main course ended and it was the time for our dessert,
All the ice cream brownie lovers, here’s a treat for you where in you get a riot of rich brownie, scoops of ice cream on top loaded with gems and rice crisps, presented in cute glasses. It was a delicious dessert.
To everyone out there who have a sweet tooth like me and drools over caramel then this is a thing for you, a sticky toffee pudding made with dates and brown sugar. This was a perfect end to our meal. I personally loved it.
With this we ended our meal.
This restaurant is definitely going to amaze you and remind you of mini Goa. A visit to this one is must, though I found lack of vegetarian dishes and certain dishes can be improved, overall it was a great experience.
