Movie Review – Ghayal Once Again
Star cast: Sunny Deol, Soha Ali Khan, Om puri
Written and Directed by Sunny Deol, the movie is a pure sequel of the 1990 block buster ‘Ghayal’.
Film opens up to the scene where Sunny is disturbed with the memories of the past. His fights with the bad boys of Balwant Rai, the last court scene. It gives a proper flash back of the movie Ghayal of 1990.
Ajay Satyakaam Mishra ( Sunny Deol) is now the chief of a news agency named ‘Satyakaam’. His friend Joe D’sousa ( Om Puri) is a retired DCP turned an active RTI activist. Ajay seems to run a parallel government giving support to the people who fail to get relief from the judicial system. Joe D’souza gets killed by the short tempered son of the business tycoon Rai Bansal ( Narendra Jha). Unknowingly, the whole incident gets captured in the camera of Anushka ( Aanchal Munjal), who along with her 3 friends get hell bent upon handling over the tape to Ajay.
Raj Bansal gets to know about it and sets out his henchmen to catch the kids. After almost a 30 min chase the kids get caught. But Ajay somehow manages to get hold of the tape. He gets trapped too as one of the friends of Anushka, Zoya ( Daina Khan) surfaces as Ajay’s daughter who was hid by his father in law.
Is Ajay able to bring justice for his dead friend forms the rest of the story.Sunny Deol has tried his best to give special effects at the climax. But crux of the story remains that Sunny Deol though a perfect actor and should not barge into the role of a director.
Ghayal disappointed the fans as there were no trademark action scenes with his ‘dhai kilo kar haath’ and no hard hitting one liners.
