In addition to festivals like Diwali, Holi, Christmas, and many more, there’s one more festival which everyone waits for and it’s none other than FOOD festival. You just name food fest and you will see all the foodies in another wonderland imagining about the fest and food.
And the season of festival has begun as PALATE FEST is back again with India’s finest restaurants, chefs, entertainers and musicians. Delhi has come alive a medley of tastings, series of events and celebrations.
Palate fest, the three day extravaganza hits Nehru Park from 10-12 February, 2017, from 11A.M. to 11P.M.
The fest hosts a plethora of chain and standalone restaurants serving divine dishes with exclusive dining experiences.
The most delicious weekend doesn’t stop here as it’s bigger, better and more fun this time as it gets much more for you and your family too, and the best part is that they have come up with new games, special kids section, a bigger market section and live entertainment stages.
This food fest showcase over 50 stalls by the leading names in the culinary space like Kouku, Olives of Spain, Bonhomia, Caara, etc.
Everything looked extremely tasty here and these are the gems I tasted there,
I started with TAJ, the beautifully decorated stall with feedback hangings making it more attractive. Coming to the food section, I tasted fish & chips, which were juicy, crunchy with fish nicely, cooked making it softer and more flavorsome. Next was chicken gander kebab, which was delicious as well.
While getting out from here, I could feel the aroma of latte’ and ah! I finally found the stall from where the aroma was coming and it was none other than Bonhomia, one of the best coffee stations. I tasted Irish and Tiramisu, I found tiramisu a bit strong but Irish totally overpowered its limitation.
Next station was Caara, having a sweet tooth I always hop around in search of desserts and here I got a delicious looking caramel salted brownie and ah! It tasted divine; I literally went on eating two.
And then came ASIAN HAUS, I had chicken scallion dumpling which were perfectly cooked, evenly shaped and tasted delish
Though I was very much full by this time but when you see THE GREAT KEBAB FACTORY then how can you skip their mutton galoutis, I am a fan of their galoutis to be honest. They were delicious as usual.
While I was so full by this time and exhausted as Delhi’s whether is being so rude these days, and all I wanted was Ice-cream and finally found this gem, hazelnut ice-cream at THE DELI SCOOP, and trust me you wouldn’t have tasted anything better than this. This was the best one and I was so proud of my decision. It tasted divine. And in addition to this I also had their chicken sandwich namely seriously sloppy joe and again a superb decision; this was so new and totally different sandwich with rare ambrosial taste.
By this time the DJ’s been on roll and was playing all fun songs which attracted the crowd even more.
And between all this tasting sessions I just got my eyes on #SLAP, there were numerous people standing to play their game wherein you have to hold certain number of popcorn packets in 3 minutes without dropping and wohhhooo, I got lucky and won a huge hamper of popcorn. This was the best part of the day.
And my hunger again strike and I went ahead to try sushi this time at PULLMAN. I had shrimp tempura, cured mango, tobanjan aioli sushi, the sushi was palatable with excellent presentation.
And after this we headed towards the market which had amazing small stalls with mind-blowing decoration and lively vibes.
I went to the stall of THE FOOD FARM, which had homemade fresh jams and hummus. They had numerous variety of hummus and I maharaja hummus took my heart. The jams were great and strawberry jam is a must have.
Even though I had enough desserts but my cravings for them never end and to satisfy that I went to CRAVINGS which had amazing display of cupcakes, brownies, cookies, chocolates and gift hampers too, exciting right? I had their vanilla cupcake with lots of gems, Oreos, chocolate and cherry on the top. The cupcake had rich flavors and tasted luscious. I am surely going to have this in my next round.
Walking around and suddenly a stall caught my gaze and I was not able to move my eye from there as it was so beautifully decorated with led’s and strings. The name of this stall was NUTTY GRITTIES, which had so many variety of new nuts which were so new and one can’t think of the mixtures. I had Thai chili, spicy Bombay and cinnamon and apple mix, isn’t this amazing and so new? This tasted really nice and spicy Bombay was the best. I was overwhelmed with the quality and taste. One should totally give this a try.
And being a complete bhukkhad I could not miss this stall named THE CACAO PODS, loaded with scrumptious chocolates on cart. I have tasted the Rocher, which was chocolaty carrying lots of nuts and love, and next was l’oriental-Cinnamon, which was a totally new thing and I am glad I got my hands on this. I loved it and got a box of eight packed for myself, though if you are more of a sweet tooth person you must go for rocher.
I so wanted to have more but my stomach literally gave up, eh! But music kept me going throughout. The whole vibe was so soothing and positive.
This was indeed the best experience and I am surely going to catch up on Sunday too.
Trust me, this Is the best fest and one shouldn’t miss this. Do pay a visit as ye Saadi Delhi da best fest hai.
