Junglee Billee hosted an event with Wai Wai where bloggers and social media influencers where invited and several recipes using Wai Wai noodles innovatively were demonstrated.
The event was held on the rooftop at the beautiful restaurant Junglee Billee. Lush Greenery and plants all around- this was the perfect setting for an event like this.
The head Chef Pawan Bisht was at the cooking station. The tabletop had a variety of ingredients placed on it- Sauces, Beetroot, Aragula, Olive Oil, Breads and syrups. We were excited at the thought of inculcating all these unusual ingredients with the wai wai.
The first recipe was tomato and Jasmine tea soup. Tangy tomato broth with aromatic Jasmine tea along with fragrant herbs and wai wai. Served in a beautiful tea cup and large lime wedge, this was refreshing and warm.
The next recipe was Crispy wai wai, aragula and strawberry salad. The peppery bitterness of the rocket leaves was balanced by the sweet beetroot, and it was all drizzled with kokum vinegarrete. Served in a cocktail glass, this salad was bursting with flavours and had the crunch from wai wai.
Wai wai Kurmure bhel was a delightful snack for all bhel lovers. Crispy puffed rice and wai wai tossed with tomatoes and nuts.
Wai wai chicken tostadas were a hit with all non-vegetarians. Wai wai and luscious cheese sauce with chicken on some bread. Most people took seconds.
The junglee billee signature wai wai keema was a wholesome combination. Wai wai with mutton keema and cheese sauce served in a glass.
Wai wai sutarfeni was a dessert not only beautiful to look at,but also very unusual. A dessert made out of wai wai! Sugary sweet wai wai with frosting and garnished with a rose petal, this was the most innovative dish for the day.
This was one event where the focus wasn’t food, it was innovating with food. Everybody got to try a little bit of everything and take home lots of recipes as well as inspiration to think outside the box.
