Review & Experience – Cress Bistro – Greater Kailash, Delhi

I really like cozy places for lunch with family members. You can share food over some old memories, pulling each other’s legs in a home-like place. Last Saturday we visited one such place, situated amidst residential area of posh GK3 – Cress Bistro. It’s a small restaurant with both indoor & outdoor sitting options. We sat inside the restaurant, the place it quite compact with wooden seating arrangement.

Chicken Manchow Soup

Super delicious and the quantity was also quite good. Generous chunks of chicken & egg made it a great start to our lunch !

Black Pepper Chicken Sui Mai

One of our all time favorite pan asian dishes. Sui Mai or open dumplings were delicious with added hotness from black pepper. We couldn’t stop ourselves from going back to the dim sum basket to have more.

Thai Red Curry Paneer Tikka

It tasted as peculiar as its name, delicious nonetheless. Cottage Cheese chunks coated with thai red curry & cooked in oven were too good.

Chipotle Paneer Tikka

It had a distinct sweetness which was well paired with mint chutney. Cottage cheese had melt-in-your-mouth texture!

Kafir Lime & Lemongrass Chicken Tikka

Another winner from that lunch, chicken was tender and juicy and we loved how it tasted when paired with super delicious pineapple sauce.

Chiang Chui Chilly Chicken

With extra hotness of chilies, super crunchy chunks of chicken were delight to devour. The chicken was super tender and delicious.

Barbeque Lamb Chops

It was more like a miss for us, found it way too sweet for out palate.

Dahi K Kabab

A dish that we always wanted to taste. Its kabab made from hung curd with a stuffing of pomegranate seeds. It just melted in the mouth !

Burmese Samosa

Samosa shaped dimsums with juicy chicken stuffing! One can never have enough dimsums…right?

Mushroom Bao

We couldn’t understand the flavours of this one, didn’t suit our palate.

Dal Makhni – Black lentils slow cooked with spices and served with dollop of butter, super rich and lip smackingly delicious ! We could have licked the bowl clean.

Peanut Butter Chicken – A twist to the good-old butter chicken, and a good one indeed. A Must try for all peanut-butter fanatics out there.

Lastly we had walnut brownie with ice-cream, something you can never go wrong with.

Overall, A good cozy restaurant with quite an extensive menu and dishes with a twist. Whether you like North Indian, Mediterranean, or Continental there is something for everyone. We would love to see more mocktails on the menu though !
