Hemkund is derived from the Sanskrit words “Hem” (snow) and “kund” (bowl). This place is famous as the Gurudwara of the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh ji, is located here. The Gurudwara is nestled on a glacial lake and is covered by almost seven mountain peaks. The best part is every peak adorned by Nishan Sahib on it’s cliff. This place has surprises and is two steps ahead of your imagination.
