Soaked Almonds Or Raw Almonds? What is Better?

Being rich in vitamins and crunchy in taste – Almonds (Badam) is commonly found in every kitchen. They make some luscious dishes simply by mincing over kheer, soufflé or Badami Korma.

The most loved nuts, Almonds have been around for almost 19,000 years as they were initially cultivated in Afghanistan, Iran, and Turkey, and soon after stretched to the Mediterranean regions, Europe and China. They are known as ‘Drupe’ when attached to their trees since developed on trees in the perforated shell.

Almonds are being considered as a ‘Superfood’ in light of its nutrients like Vitamin E, dietary fibers, Omega 3 fatty acids, proteins, and manganese. They help in strengthening bones, regulate blood sugar and keep you full for longer.

It’s not just a matter of taste, but rather selecting the more beneficial choice between soaked almonds or raw almonds. 

Since the dark colored peel of almonds contains tannin which reduces nutrient absorption, and once you soak them overnight, the skin comes off easily that allows the nut to release all the nutrients quickly. The best idea to soak the almonds is like – simply soak a handful of almonds in some water, then cover it with a lid and allow soaking for at least 8 hours. Afterward, peel off the brown skin, drain out the water, and store them in an air-tight container. It will last for about a week and are ready to be snacking.
